U.S. Sales and use tax has now reached the shores of Europe with the recent ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States of America in South Dakota v. Wayfair.
As a result of the decision, online retailers may now be required to collect tax on out-of-state transactions, posing significant challenges for non-U.S. retailers that currently sell remotely into the U.S.
