Tennessee Holds Annual Sales Tax Holiday 2020

Tennessee 2020 Sales Tax Holiday

Tennessee will hold its annual sales tax holiday for clothing, school supplies and computers July 31 - August 2, 2020, giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase eligible goods tax-free.

Tennessee 2020 Sales Tax HOliday

To qualify for tax-free clothing, the apparel must cost $200 or less per item. It is important to note that items normally sold together (like shoes) cannot be split up to stay beneath the $200 threshold.

The sales tax holiday also applies to school and art supplies with a purchase price of $200 or less per item. School and art supplies that are purchased for business or trade use do not qualify for the exemption.

In addition, the sales tax holiday applies to computers, laptops and tablets with a sale price of $3,000 or less for personal use only.
