A Message to Our Customers About the Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities

Researchers have recently announced two new major vulnerabilities, “Meltdown” and “Spectre,” with the potential to impact any system running an Intel, AMD or ARM central processing unit (CPU) chipset. The vulnerabilities that have been identified must be addressed at the operating system (OS) level on every system. To be clear, these are hardware design flaws and not a Vertex software defect or bug.

We are taking urgent actions to protect the Vertex systems and services you rely on. This includes vulnerability scanning on Microsoft Windows and Linux systems and continuing to test and apply patches until all updates have been made.

For customers using our Cloud and On-Demand environments, Vertex is working with our partners to ensure your information is fully protected. As patches are made available by operating system and other vendors, Vertex will notify you of any specific scheduling and maintenance windows in order to apply updates.

For our customers where the use of our software/applications is in their own environment or a non-Vertex environment, we highly recommend you apply the recommended patches as soon as practical.

We will continue to provide updates here until remediation efforts are completed.
