Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Our Commitment to You

Vertex Inc.

These past months have been unlike anything we have ever experienced as a global community - changing how we work, challenging us to find creative ways to stay connected with others and requiring new levels of fortitude to manage the uncertainty. Through it all, the health and well-being of our employees, customers, partners and extended community remain our highest priority.

As the global impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) unfolds in both our businesses and in our communities, we continue to closely monitor and align our decisions with the information, guidance and policies provided by local governments, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other public health authorities.

We recognize the vital role our technology plays in helping companies across the globe effectively manage tax complexities. In early March, we empowered a cross-functional leadership team to ensure business continuity through decisive action grounded in an understanding of employee health and safety, critical business operations and governmental mandates. We remain committed to maintaining collaboration, productivity and security for our products and services, as well as ensuring continued support for our customers. By previously planning for business continuity during potential short and long‐term system outages, loss of facilities, unavailability of staff and loss of critical third‐party vendors, we have been able to continue delivering the level of quality, excellence and timeliness that our customers are accustomed to from us.

In addition to caring for the safety of our employees, we believe our company has a responsibility to support efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus in the communities in which we live and work. We implemented remote working protocols for our entire global workforce in March and established both domestic and international travel restrictions. As an organization, we have the technological, cultural and operational infrastructure to operate virtually. While we have missed the opportunity to engage with our extended Vertex community in person, we continue to connect virtually during this critical period and meet the short and long-term needs of our customers and partners.

The foundation of our business and our culture are grounded in our values – a respect for all people and a commitment to do the right thing. Giving back to our communities has been an extremely important part of this for us. Our Philanthropy Team has been actively supporting our local communities throughout these challenging times. Since the global pandemic outbreak, we donated 2,600 KN95 masks to Temple University Hospital, made monetary donations to foodbanks around the globe, provided additional support to our philanthropic partners and matched employee donations to qualifying organizations.

We, like the rest of the world, are continuing to navigate this unique and rapidly evolving situation day by day and remain committed to serving the Vertex community with distinction.
