As summer approaches, many of us begin to look for places to go to have a good time with friends and family. Louisiana and Nevada are a few states well-known for their attitude toward good times, but there are dozens more that take a less encouraging approach by imposing a “sin tax.” This tax singles out “sinful” products such as alcohol and cigarettes.
Featured in accountingtoday.com, The Tax Foundation ranked states by their tax rates in various areas including alcohol, gambling and recreation, making it easier to figure out which states are the worst in which to “sin.”
