Amazon Webstore to Shut Down

Since 2010, Amazon Webstore has been an ecommerce platform allowing small to medium-sized retailers to set up and run their own website.

Amazon has told their online merchants via letter to "find a new vendor before it kills off the service."

Other competitive ecommerce businesses such as Shopify and Bigcommerce have raised capital to expand their tool sets and attract more customers from the existing Amazon Webstore.

A current article suggests that there are plenty of other platforms to which current Amazon Webstore merchants can migrate to once the Webstore discontinues on July 1, 2016. Amazon states "Login and Pay will exist after Amazon Webstore," and they will "continue expanding the business to new merchants."
