Florida Holds a Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday

Florida is set to hold a sales tax holiday from May 31 - June 6, 2019 for disaster preparedness products. During this time, consumers can purchase these qualifying products tax free. There is no limit on the number of qualifying items you can purchase and you do not need to issue an exemption certificate to claim the exemption.

It is important to note that the sales tax holiday does not apply to:

  • the rental or repair of any of the qualifying items.
  • sales in a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment or airports.
