Vertex, Inc., the leading provider of corporate enterprise tax solutions, announced the appointment of David DeStefano to Chief Executive Officer, effective today. This completes the company’s leadership transition plan announced October 2015, in which DeStefano succeeds Jeff Westphal as president and CEO of Vertex. Westphal will remain in his position of chairperson of the board of directors for the company, which he co-owns with Amanda Westphal Radcliffe and Stefanie Westphal Thompson.
“We look forward to continued success for Vertex, as well as the realization of a new era of remarkable growth under the leadership of David DeStefano,” said Westphal. “I have enjoyed leading the company and helping to transform it into the collaborative and innovative operation it is today. I look forward to seeing David advance the company toward its full potential through his new role as CEO.”
DeStefano, who joined Vertex in 1999 as Chief Financial Officer commented, “I am grateful to Jeff for the incredible passion and energy he’s infused into the company over the past 20 years. With the strength of the organization, the acceleration of Vertex Enterprise, Vertex SMB, and our flagship Vertex Indirect Tax O Series technology we have a tremendous opportunity to grow the business and continue our global expansion. I’m looking forward to leading Vertex into the future.”
