In a move that further strengthens Vertex’s leadership position in tax technology, the company announced a strategic alliance with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC US) to leverage the synergies between Vertex’s industry-leading corporate tax and data management solutions with PwC’s tax reporting and strategy consulting services. The alliance positions PwC as a preferred associate of Vertex.
“As the global tax environment continues to evolve, our clients are taking steps to prepare for the changing global tax reporting and planning landscape,” said Michael Shehab, US Tax Reporting & Strategy Leader for PwC. “The key to meeting these new transparency requirements will be the ability to harness data. Vertex® Enterprise is a differentiated tax performance management platform, and directly aligns with our vision for the tax function of the future. Vertex Enterprise, along with PwC’s strong track record as a leading assurance, tax and advisory firm, will be a powerful combination in the marketplace.”
“The OECD’s base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) project is expected to result in the most significant changes to the taxation of international business in the last 25 years,” said Jeff Westphal, President and CEO of Vertex. “Our Vertex Enterprise solution and other advanced tax technologies, combined with PwC’s best-in-class tax services, will create breakthrough performance for our mutual clients. This alliance will help tax departments define exciting new opportunities for data-driven tax transformation, as well as meet the transparency requirements of the future,” said Westphal.
PwC has worked with Vertex over many years, and through this strategic alliance, the two organizations will bring to market advanced tax technology solutions, services and innovations to further the evolution of tax processes and tax functions. Vertex and PwC’s alliance will offer solutions to meet both direct and indirect corporate tax challenges. This includes strategic business planning and advice, as well as improved tax performance management across the entire tax lifecycle.
