Missouri Set to Hold Energy Efficiency Sales Tax Holiday

Missouri is set to hold its annual “Show-Me Green” sales tax holiday effective April 19 – 25, 2019, which exempts its state sales tax on retail sales of qualifying Energy Star Certified new appliances, up to $1500 per appliance.

During this week, the following Energy Star products are sales tax exempt:

  • Clothes washers and dryers
  • Water heaters
  • Trash compactors
  • Dishwashers
  • Conventional ovens
  • Ranges
  • Stoves
  • Air conditioners
  • Furnaces
  • Refrigerators and Freezers
  • Heat pumps

It is important to note that cities, counties and districts may participate in the sales tax holiday by enacting an ordinance exempting their locally imposed sales tax during this time.
