Joined Vertex in 2012
My experience at Vertex started before I even completed my Business Management degree from West Chester University. As a college intern, I gained firsthand experience through a variety of projects within the Tax Research Work Center.
Following graduation in 2012, I was eager to return as a full-time employee. Initially, I worked in Customer Relationship Development Work Center—first as a Customer Data Representative and later as an Account Services Representative. My time in those roles provided excellent exposure and experience. I networked with colleagues in nearly every department, and just as important, interacted directly with many of our customers. In time, however, I realized that I might be better suited to other aspects of our operations.
Because of my strong relationship with my sponsor—and the company’s commitment to employee growth and development—I was able to share those thoughts and observations without hesitation.
My sponsor encouraged me to return to the Tax Research Work Center, where I’m now working as a Tax Research Analyst Associate. This position is a great fit for my personality, particularly my eye for detail. I also value the many opportunities for growth and development within Research.
From the very beginning, I’ve been given flexibility and autonomy to make my own decisions—even as a new grad. One lesson I’ve learned already: that at Vertex, growth isn’t always about “moving up.” It’s about broadening my knowledge and experiences so that I can improve my all-around skill set.
