Vertex® Virtual Class Information
To optimize your virtual classroom experience, Vertex recommends that you review the following information and complete the necessary preparation tasks.
Prepare for the virtual class by:
- Scheduling approximately 30 minutes longer than the class duration so you can fully participate in the virtual class.
- If necessary, scheduling an office or conference room with access to a speaker phone.
- Checking the reminder email from the Vertex registrar for important information about the virtual class. It is sent two days before the virtual class.
- Checking that your computer's configuration and settings meet virtual class requirements.

Internet Connection Speed
- 56Kb/sec or faster (Broadband is strongly recommended)
Display
- 800x600 pixels required (1024x768 recommended)
Phone
- Separate phone line to dial into the audio segment
- Optional phone headphones
Check Your Computer's Configuration and Settings:
The Vertex virtual classes are powered by Adobe® Connect and Skytap Cloud technologies.
We suggest checking your computer at least one-day in advance. Complete the following steps to ensure you can fully participate in the virtual classes.
Perform a connection test for Adobe Connect:

Perform a connectivity test for Skytap Cloud. Navigate to the following URL
and click Start Connectivity Test:

These tests check your computer and take approximately 30 seconds to run. There is no need to test/install the Adobe Connect add-in.

Check Phone Equipment for Audio
Segment
Vertex recommends using headphones or a speaker phone in a quiet office or conference room.
Complete these steps:
- Log on 5 to 10 minutes before the virtual class.
- Navigate to the meeting URL provided to you in the registration reminder email.
- Log in with your email address on the Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro login page before clicking on the Enter Room button.
- Dial the toll-free phone number and enter the participant code for the audio segment.
- The use of recording equipment is strictly prohibited.
- Allow an extra half hour to your schedule should the virtual class last longer than the allotted time.
Please complete the online evaluation immediately following the virtual class. Your virutal class leader will give you directions for accessing the evaluation. The information you provide helps us improve the way we meet customers' needs.

Group discounts are available for each virtual class.
