    Curriculum

    The Vertex Certified training program for Vertex Q Series Version 3.x includes seven live and self-paced web modules, a certification project, and a two-part final exam. Estimated time commitment is about 30 hours (including web modules and preparation), with the entire curriculum taking six to eight weeks to complete. In addition to becoming Vertex Certified, successful candidates earn 10 CPE credits.

    8. Certification Project

    Self-Directed Project

    Participants will complete a project-based assignment in order to apply the STQ concepts to their own situations. Project will consist of worksheets in which they will complete design activities, implementation activities and maintenance activities.

    Design activities include building tax matrices that reflect company structure, registration, products and services, and customers. Implementation activities will include TDM dependencies and window setup, using tables and charts to define how to setup what it is the matrix. Maintenance activities include locating records and running reports, troubleshooting, editing and deleting records

    Note: The intent is to have you use your own company’s business requirements to complete the project for the most meaningful application of your learning. However, if your company data is sensitive, you can complete the project with concept data, or use one of the multiple case study companies provided. You can speak with your Vertex Certification Coach to determine your best option for completing the certification project.
