Vertex Exchange 2007 - A Look Back
Over 700 Tax and IT professionals converged on the tropical paradise of the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, from October 22-24, for three days of education, information and inspiration.
The theme of last year's Exchange focused on recognizing change not only in the tax department, but across the entire business landscape. This year’s theme of “Chart a New Course” gave attendees the tools and techniques to not just deal with change, but to use it as a catalyst for new opportunities and success in every endeavor.
Keynote - Gathering Momentum From Change

Starting with the Monday keynote session attendees learned that no dream is unattainable even in the face of adversity, thanks to the enlightening and exhilarating words of motivational speaker, Olympic skier and best-selling author, Vince Poscente.
Vince took attendees through his own personal journey in the pursuit of excellence to transcend from recreational skier to olympic champion. He also outlined his keys to success and proved that with an ounce of determination and the drive to succeed no dream is ever out of reach.
Every attendee received a copy of Vince's New York Times best-selling book The Age of Speed: Learning to Thrive in a More-Faster-Now World. In addition, Vince greeted everyone after the keynote to autograph books and have some one-on-one time with each attendee.
Keeping Clients Out of "Jeopardy"
While on the topic of change; Vertex CEO, Jeff Westphal donned a new hat (or to be more specific, a new moustache) to enlighten customers on the state of Vertex and what the future holds for corporate taxation professionals.
Instead of the traditional “death by slideshow”, this year’s attendees were treated to a rousing rendition of Celebrity Jeopardy Vertex style. Popeye, Betty Boop and someone bearing a strange resemblance to Sir Sean Connery, helped Jeff deliver messages about Vertex®O Series®, Income Tax e-Filing, Consulting, International Taxation and charting a new course by effectively leveraging tax data.
To say Vertex Exchange 2007 was a success would be an understatement, but we want you to judge for yourself. Spend some time to learn more about Vertex Exchange 2007 and don't forget to see what we have in store for 2008.
