H07 ~ Tax Calendar: Tips and Techniques

Description

In this interactive hands-on session, you will travel beyond the basics of Vertex Tax Calendar and explore some of the best practices in populating the database with Custom obligations, copying / importing obligations into new Filers and controlling the calculation of Annual Report due dates. 

You will also master the “Obligation Selector” (Reporting) tool and the “Multi-Update” function that simultaneously enters/updates extension due dates – and other information - for numerous Filers and Jurisdictions. 

And, you will explore how valuable the “E-mail Notifier” add-on component can be for the scheduling and automated delivery of Obligation due dates and related information to anyone in your department.

Objectives

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Create Custom Obligations (using the 3 due date calculation methods).
  • “Copy” existing Obligations and Import these into a new Filer.
  • Control the calculation of annual report due dates.
  • Create a report “query” for standard or custom reports using any set of Obligation data.
  • Simultaneously update data associated with numerous Filers and/or Obligations.
  • Recognize the benefits of scheduled and automatic “Obligation data” e-mails.
