General Web
Class Information
To optimize your web classroom experience, Vertex
recommends that you review the following information and
complete the necessary preparation tasks.
Before the Web Class
Prepare for the Web class by:
- Scheduling approximately two hours so you can fully participate in the Web class.
- If necessary, scheduling an office or conference room with access to a speaker phone.
- Checking the reminder email from the Vertex registrar for important information about the Web class. It is sent two days before Web class.
- Checking that your computer’s configuration and settings meet Web class requirements.
Check Your System Requirements
Please ensure your learning environment meets the following criteria for an optimal web classroom experience.
Computer Requirements:
See below for a complete computer diagnostic check.
Internet Connection Speed
- 56Kb/sec or faster (Broadband is strongly recommended)
Display
- 800x600 pixels required (1024x768 recommended)
Phone
- Separate phone line to dial into the audio segment
- Optional phone headphones
Check Your Computer’s Configuration and Settings:
The Vertex Web Class Series is powered by Adobe® Breeze, a vendor that specializes in Web class technology. We suggest that to check your computer at least one-day in advance. Complete the following steps to ensure that your computer will receive the Web class successfully:
Perform a configuration check for you computer using the following URL:
http://vertexinc.acrobat.com/check
- When prompted enter as a guest.
- When the screen loads if you see the animation on the screen, then your computer is properly configured for Breeze training.
Other Helpful Hints:
- Change your computer display settings to 1024 X 768.
- Secure uninterrupted access to the Internet for two hours or longer.

Check Phone Equipment for Audio Segment
Vertex recommends that you use headphones or a speaker phone in a quiet office or conference room.
Day of the Web Class
Complete these steps:
- Log on 5 to 10 minutes before the Web class.
- Navigate to the meeting URL provided to you in the registration reminder email.
- Log in as a guest on the Macromedia Breeze log in page to attend the Web Class.
- Dial the toll-free phone number and enter the participant code for the audio segment.
During the Web Class
- The use of recording equipment is strictly prohibited during the Web class.
- Allow an extra half hour to your schedule should the Web class last longer.
After the Web Class
Please complete the online evaluation immediately following the Web class. Your Web class leader will give you directions for accessing the evaluation. The information you provide helps us to improve the way we meet customers’ needs.

The following Vertex registration policies apply to all Web classes.
Multiple Employee Attendance at Web Class
Group discounts are available for each Web class. Please contact Vertex Training – Transactional Tax for details by sending an email to training.registration@vertexinc.com with the names, email addresses, and phone number of the additional employees who will be attending. CPE Credits
In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, CPE credits have been granted based on a 50-minute hour.
Internet Based Group (Web Class)
- 60 minute web class will receive 1 CPE Credit
- 90 minute web class will receive 1.5 CPE Credits
- 120 minute web class will receive 2 CPE Credits
