Sales Tax State Activity Update - January 2005
Hawaii Issues New Tax Identification Numbers
The Department of Taxation will be mailing approximately 381,000 letters notifying businesses of their new Tax Identification Number that replaces their general excise, and other business tax license/ registration numbers. The new Identification Number will be printed on license and registration certificates displayed at places of business and on tax forms.
New Numbers were assigned as a result of an upgraded tax management information system that was recently installed.
Business that do not receive the letter or have questions or need to correct errors should contact the Taxpayer Service Branch at 808.587.4242 or 800.222.3229.
