Taxicabs Exempt From Rental Tax in Alaska

House Bill No. 347 signed by the Governor exempts taxicabs from a 10 percent tax on vehicles rental. In addition, the Department of Revenue has been instructed to refund any tax collected. Since the 10 percent tax on vehicle rental took effect begining of this year, the refund is retroactive to January 1, 2004.
