Sales Tax State Activity Update - January 2003
EDI Filing Option Available in Alabama
Alabama Department of Revenue has announced that taxpayers have an option for filing the state’s sales, use, rental, lodging, and income tax withholding tax returns on line using the DOR website. Currently there is no charge for using the department’s web site to file these returns. This option is available beginning with the November 2002 state and local returns due either in December 15 or December 20, 2002 depending on the type of tax return. Taxpayers can use this online service to prepare, file, and pay the taxes.
To get started Taxpayers are required the take the following steps.
- Complete the electronic funds Transfer Authorization Agreement form (Form # EFT-001)
- Complete power of Attorney information
- Register by logging onto the department’s Web site at www.ador.state.al.us
