Vertex Chief Technology Officer Garners Leadership Award
SmartCEO Magazine recognizes Vertex’s John Viglione with 2011 SmartCXO Award
BERWYN, Pa. – April 19, 2011 – Vertex Inc., the leading provider of corporate enterprise tax solutions, is pleased to announce that the company’s chief technology officer, John Viglione, has been recognized by SmartCEO Magazine with the 2011 SmartCXO Award. The annual award recognizes executives in the categories of CFO, COO, CIO/CTO and executive management teams from the Philadelphia region that have exhibited superior leadership in supporting their organizations’ initiatives and success.

Viglione joined Vertex in 1998 and has been responsible for multiple initiatives. He is a key contributor to the company's core strategic direction and responsible for Vertex's leadership in multiple industry standards organizations related to the technology, financial and tax industries.
Prior to joining Vertex, John served for over 15 years within Fortune 500 companies, focusing on comprehensive enterprise IT initiatives. He earned his B.S. from St. Joseph's University and his Masters of Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University.
