Vertex® Launches Professional Certification Program
Professionals able to earn new credential and measure training ROI
Berwyn, PA – October 27, 2009 – Vertex Inc., the leading provider of corporate enterprise tax solutions, announces Vertex Certified™, a comprehensive training initiative which sets the standard for Vertex learning and enables students to earn professional designation from a market leader.
Utilizing interactive web-based technology, Vertex Certified offers an innovative remote learning format to maximize scheduling flexibility while eliminating travel costs, key benefits for organizations facing reduced budgets due to current economic conditions.
“The Vertex Certified program goes beyond other training options by providing students with a way to prove their product knowledge and earn an important professional credential,” said Kerry Kaczorowski, Vertex Director, Customer Education. “It also provides organizations with a clear way to develop and recognize tax professionals and measure return on their training investment.”
The first certification is designed for Vertex® Sales Tax Q Series® 3.x. Candidates advance through seven live and self-paced modules, a certification project focused on a real-world scenario, and a two-part final exam. Certification takes approximately 30 hours to complete over six to eight weeks and offers 10 CPE credits. Successful candidates can promote their new status with the “Vertex Certified” and “Vertex Certified Professional” logos and gain access to other valuable benefits, including group networking on LinkedIn and “fast-lane” access to senior Vertex Support representatives.
Vertex introduced the Vertex Certified program earlier this year through an invitation-only pilot. The customers and consultants in this pilot provided important comments and suggestions and are now among the first with the “Vertex Certified™” designation.
According to pilot participant Noah Candano, a tax accountant at Anritsu Company, “This program is one of the most significant training innovations undertaken by Vertex, providing customers with world-class, hands-on training others can only aspire to deliver.”
Vertex plans to soon introduce certification tracks for other major product lines, starting with Vertex® O Series®. Vertex is also exploring training certification for Income Tax.
