Jeff Westphal is President, Chief Executive Officer and co-owner of Vertex Inc., the global leader in corporate tax performance management solutions.
He joined the company founded by his father, Ray Westphal, in 1988. During his tenure, he has served as Director of Marketing, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and later as Executive Vice President. He was promoted to President in 1996 and Chief Executive Officer in 2001.
Under Jeff's stewardship, Vertex has established consulting and implementation service offerings, and expanded to serve global clients by establishing EU operations. Vertex was awarded "The Best Place to Work in Pennsylvania" in 2001 and was honored on the top ten list again in 2002. Vertex now has more than 600 professionals at its headquarters in the U.S. (Berwyn, PA) and its offices in Europe (London), Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, San Francisco, Sarasota, and Washington, DC.
Jeff is engaged in professional and charitable activities, including the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), Young President's Organization (YPO) and the Conference Board where he currently serves as Chairman of the Middle Market Executive Council. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Open Connections, Inc., a not-for-profit open educational organization, and is Co-founder with his wife, Jenifer, of Kyle's Treehouse, (kylestreehouse.org), a web-based resource for families seeking hope and guidance for the treatment of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
