Vice President, Content Development
As Vice President of Content Development, John leads the Content Development entity, which consists of two work groups: Income Tax Research and Transaction Tax Research.
John joined Vertex in 1999 and leads tax researchers in Sarasota supporting Vertex's income tax application and tax researchers in Berwyn supporting an assortment of transactional tax applications. Researchers are responsible for the acquisition, interpretation and staging of tax data, taxability rules and situs logic.
Virtually all new tax functionality starts with requirements that are developed by the Research Group and reflect the tax behaviors that need to be modeled. Business Analysts from the Development Group translate these requirements into specifications documents used by software developers to code.
The VP Content Development ensures that Vertex has the processes and resources in place to ensure the development of new tax features and to also support the monthly maintenance process.
John holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Business Administration from Drexel University, and a Master of Taxation from Villanova University.
