Customers Gain Flexible Reporting and Enhanced Security with Latest Version of Vertex® O Series®

Berwyn, PA, February 14, 2005 — Vertex Inc. ( www.vertexinc.com), the leading provider of tax management solutions, announces the release of Vertex O Series 2.2, the latest version of the Vertex O Series line of products for web services environments. This release of Vertex O Series addresses the need for faster and more accurate transaction tax processing by extending the capability of the platform and expanding its ability to calculate domestic and international taxes.

With this new release, all Vertex O Series products now have the option of a flexible reporting module, Vertex Reporting and Analysis™. This new reporting tool offers tax professionals the capability to analyze and create custom tax transaction data reports. Users can put a limit on or sort any data field, define the rows and columns of a table or formatted report, and create pivot tables and charts. Vertex O Series 2.2 also offers enhanced role-based security, providing administrators the ability to assign custom–defined user roles in accordance with their Sarbanes-Oxley compliance process.
