Louisiana Accelerates Manufacturing Sales and Use Exclusion
Louisiana Revenue Information Bulletin No. 07-029 was issued to clarify the accelerated application of full state sales and use tax exclusion for machinery and equipment used by motor vehicle manufacturers with a North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code beginning with 3361. The exclusion took effect May 31, 2007.
The acceleration of this exclusion (rather than initially being phased in during the periods 7/1/2004 thru 7/1/2010) was made possible by the state's modification of the term "tangible personal property" to specifically exclude machinery and equipment used by motor vehicle manufacturers with a NAICS code that begins with 3361.
